When you are convinced to or expected to spend extra money because a product is a “splurge” when actually you’re being taken advantage of.
“It is pure splurglary to convince people to buy a low quality-cancer causing if used wrong frying pan because it’s cute and comes in colors”
Examples -
The fancy version of something that never needed to be fancy - the $10,000 deck of cards or Tiffany paperclips
All celebrity skin care/hair care/vitamins etc.
Most other products by celebrities - especially when it’s just a fancy version of something that didn’t need to be fancy
Subscription boxes that send you things you don’t need, would not have bought on your own, and only serves as an advertisement for companies
Diamonds
A certain electric car company
Expensive version of regular food that is not made different or better
Real gold in food
