From Seaglass to Shining Seaglass
Collecting sea glass is a beautifully meditative hobby - you never know what you will find, it's all up to the ocean and her waves that day. What I saw today I will never see again.
Every piece has a story - made by every wave and piece of sand that grazes it. Broken then softened, maybe broken again, sometimes perfectly polished but always able to be broken - and repolished - again.
The ocean turns human trash into treasure - providing a scavenger hunt that’s always available. Old and new - so many colors - history polished by the sea.
The beach has offerings every season - with boots and windbreakers in winter rain there will still be something wonderful to find. I hunt so often I joke that seaglass is my glitter. I leave a trail everywhere I go - every purse, car, pocket, drawer, incense holder has some seaglass. Life is prettier when you’re a collector.
The calm of the search and sound of the water renews. You never know what delight is awaiting for you that may not be glass.
I’ve seen: two bald eagles in a tree, seals playing, sailboats, container ships, ducks, anemones, butterflies, bees, people with dogs, crabs, and the most beautiful views imaginable.
Happy Hunting.
